WARNING
Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF or LOCK position before inspecting or servicing the drive belt. The engine could rotate unexpectedly and cause serious injury.
1. Visually inspect the drive belt for abnormal wear, cracking, cuts, glazing, fraying, separation, or looseness. If the belt is damaged, excessively worn, or loose, it should be replaced or adjusted. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.
2. Have the drive belt condition and tension checked regularly according to the maintenance schedule in the "Maintenance and schedules" section of this manual.
A properly maintained drive belt helps ensure reliable operation of key Nissan Frontier components, including the generator, power steering pump, and air conditioner compressor.
