This Nissan Frontier is equipped with an Event Data Recorder (EDR). The primary purpose of the EDR is to record specific vehicle data in certain crash or near-crash situations, such as air bag deployment or impact with a road obstacle. This information can help explain how the vehicle systems performed immediately before, during, and after the event. Special equipment is required to read data recorded by an EDR, and access to the vehicle or the EDR is necessary. In addition to the vehicle manufacturer and a NISSAN dealer, other parties, including law enforcement agencies with the proper equipment, may be able to read the information if they have access to the vehicle or the EDR.
EDR data will only be accessed with the consent of the vehicle owner or lessee, or as otherwise required or permitted by law.
