Basic information
The Nissan Frontier uses two different fuse types. Type A fuses are used in the fuse boxes located in the engine compartment.
Type B fuses are used in both the passenger compartment and engine compartment fuse boxes. Type A fuses are supplied as spare fuses; however, spare fuses are not provided in the engine compartment.
If a Type A fuse is used to replace a Type B fuse, the Type A fuse will not sit level with the fuse pocket, as shown in the illustration.
This does not affect fuse performance, but the fuse must be installed securely in the fuse box to ensure proper electrical contact.
Type B fuses cannot be installed in the under-hood fuse boxes. Only Type A fuses should be used in the Nissan Frontier under-hood fuse boxes.
NOTE:
Your Nissan Frontier may not be equipped with every fuse listed on the fuse label, depending on model, trim level, and installed equipment.

Basic information
WARNING
Never use a fuse with a higher or lower amperage rating than the rating specified on the fuse box cover. Using an incorrect fuse may damage the Nissan Frontier electrical system or electronic control units, and could cause a fire.
If any electrical equipment does not turn on or operate correctly, check for an open fuse.
1. Make sure the ignition switch and headlight switch are turned OFF.
2. Open the engine hood.
3. Remove the fuse box cover by pressing the tab and lifting the cover upward.
4. Remove the fuse using the fuse puller.
The fuse puller is located in the center of the passenger compartment fuse block.
5. If the fuse is open A, replace it with a new fuse B of the same amperage rating.
6. If the new fuse opens again, the Nissan Frontier electrical system may have a fault. Have the system inspected and repaired. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.
Fusible links
If electrical equipment does not operate and the fuses are in good condition, check the fusible links. If any fusible link is melted or damaged, replace it only with Genuine NISSAN parts.

WARNING
Never install a fuse with a higher or lower amperage rating than the rating specified on the fuse box cover. An incorrect fuse can damage wiring, electronic control units, or other electrical components and may create a fire hazard.
If any electrical equipment in the Nissan Frontier does not operate, check for an open fuse.
1. Make sure the ignition switch and headlight switch are OFF.
2. Open the glove box and pull the fuse box cover to remove it.
3. Remove the fuse using the fuse puller.
4. If the fuse is open A, replace it with an equivalent good fuse B with the same amperage rating.
5. Reverse step 2 to reinstall the fuse box cover securely.
6. If the replacement fuse opens again, have the Nissan Frontier electrical system inspected and repaired. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.
NOTE:
Your vehicle may not be equipped with all fuses listed on the fuse label.
Using the correct fuse type and amperage is essential for protecting Nissan Frontier wiring, electrical accessories, control modules, and safety-related systems from damage.
