Nissan Frontier: In case of emergency - Hazard warning flasher switch

Press the hazard warning flasher switch to alert other drivers when the Nissan Frontier must be stopped or parked because of an emergency situation. When the switch is activated, all turn signal lights flash simultaneously to make the vehicle more visible to surrounding traffic.

WARNING

• If you must stop the Nissan Frontier because of an emergency, move the vehicle as far away from the roadway as safely possible before stopping.
• Do not use the hazard warning flashers while driving on a highway unless unusual conditions force you to travel so slowly that your vehicle could become a hazard to other road users.
• The regular turn signal function will not operate while the hazard warning flasher lights are switched on.

The hazard warning flashers will operate regardless of the ignition switch position, allowing the Nissan Frontier to remain visible even when the engine is off.

Some jurisdictions may restrict or prohibit the use of the hazard warning flasher switch while the vehicle is moving. Always follow local traffic laws and use the system responsibly.

Emergency engine shut off

If it becomes necessary to shut off the Nissan Frontier engine during an emergency while driving, use one of the following procedures:

• Rapidly press the push-button ignition switch three consecutive times within less than 1.5 seconds, or
• Press and hold the push-button ignition switch for more than 2 seconds.

This emergency shut-off procedure should only be used when continued engine operation creates a serious safety risk. After the engine is shut off, steering and braking assistance may be reduced, so keep firm control of the Nissan Frontier and stop in the safest available location.
