Nissan Frontier: Instruments and Controls - Heated Steering Wheel Switch

Nissan Frontier 2022-2026 Owner's Manual / Instruments and Controls / Heated Steering Wheel Switch

Nissan Frontier heated steering wheel control switch

The Nissan Frontier heated steering wheel system is designed to enhance driver comfort during cold-weather operation by warming the steering wheel surface whenever ambient temperatures are low.

The system is engineered to operate only when the steering wheel surface temperature falls below approximately 68°F (20°C).

To activate the feature, start the Nissan Frontier engine and press the heated steering wheel switch. Once activated, the indicator light built into the switch illuminates, confirming that the system has been turned on.

When the steering wheel surface temperature is below 68°F (20°C), the Nissan Frontier heated steering wheel system begins warming the steering wheel automatically. To maintain a comfortable temperature, the system cycles on and off as necessary while keeping the steering wheel above the target temperature.

Throughout operation, the indicator light remains illuminated to show that the heated steering wheel function is active.

To manually deactivate the system, press the heated steering wheel switch a second time. The indicator light will turn off, confirming that the system has been switched off.

For additional convenience and energy management, the Nissan Frontier heated steering wheel automatically shuts off approximately 30 minutes after activation. If additional heating is desired, simply press the switch again to begin a new heating cycle.

This automatic timer helps reduce unnecessary electrical consumption while maintaining excellent comfort during winter driving conditions.

NOTE:

If the steering wheel surface temperature is already above 68°F (20°C) when the switch is activated, the Nissan Frontier heated steering wheel system will not apply heat. This is normal operation and does not indicate a malfunction of the system.
