Manual anti-glare rearview mirror

Nissan Frontier manual anti-glare rearview mirror day and night positions

The manual anti-glare rearview mirror in the Nissan Frontier helps reduce distracting headlight glare from vehicles traveling behind you during nighttime driving.

Use the night position 1 to reduce reflected glare from following vehicles.

Use the day position 2 when driving during daylight hours to maintain maximum rearward visibility.

WARNING

Use the night position only when necessary. While it helps reduce glare, it also decreases mirror brightness and overall rearward visibility.

Automatic anti-glare rearview mirror

Nissan Frontier automatic anti-glare rearview mirror with light sensors

The Nissan Frontier automatic anti-glare rearview mirror is designed to automatically adjust mirror reflectivity according to ambient lighting conditions and the brightness of headlights from vehicles behind.

This feature helps improve nighttime driving comfort by reducing eye strain and minimizing distracting glare.

The automatic dimming function becomes active whenever the ignition switch is placed in the ON position.

NOTE:

Do not hang objects over the sensor area 1 or apply glass cleaner directly onto the sensors.

Doing so may reduce sensor sensitivity and prevent the Nissan Frontier automatic anti-glare mirror from functioning correctly.

Outside mirrors

Basic information

WARNING

  • Never adjust the Nissan Frontier outside mirrors while driving.

Attempting to adjust mirrors while the vehicle is moving may distract the driver and increase the risk of an accident.

  • Objects reflected in the passenger-side outside mirror are closer than they appear. Exercise caution when changing lanes or moving to the right. Relying solely on the passenger-side mirror may lead to inaccurate distance judgment. Always check the inside mirror and glance over your shoulder when safe to do so.

Nissan Frontier manual folding outside mirror

Manual folding outside mirrors

The Nissan Frontier outside mirrors can be manually folded inward toward the doors when parking in tight spaces, driving through narrow areas, or protecting the mirrors from potential damage.

To fold a mirror, gently pull it toward the door until it reaches the folded position.

Nissan Frontier manual outside mirror adjustment control

Manual control type (if so equipped)

The manually adjustable Nissan Frontier outside mirrors can be positioned in any direction to achieve the desired rearward field of view.

Adjust each mirror carefully to maximize visibility along both sides of the vehicle.

Nissan Frontier electric outside mirror adjustment control dial

Electric control type (if so equipped)

The power mirror adjustment system operates only when the Nissan Frontier ignition switch is in the ACC or ON position.

Rotate the control selector to choose either the left or right outside mirror.

Adjust the selected mirror by moving the control dial until the desired viewing angle is achieved.

After adjustment, return the control dial to the center (neutral) position. This helps prevent accidental mirror movement during normal vehicle operation.

Heated mirrors (if so equipped)

Some Nissan Frontier models are equipped with heated outside mirrors that help remove fog, frost, and ice accumulation.

The heated mirrors improve visibility during cold weather and damp driving conditions, contributing to safer vehicle operation and a clearer view of surrounding traffic.
