Nissan Frontier: Monitor, climate, audio, phone and voice recognition systems - Servicing air conditioner

Nissan Frontier 2022-2026 Owner's Manual / Monitor, climate, audio, phone and voice recognition systems / Servicing air conditioner

The Nissan Frontier air-conditioning system is filled with a modern refrigerant that has been developed with environmental responsibility in mind.

This refrigerant is designed to operate without damaging the earth's ozone layer.

Servicing the Nissan Frontier air-conditioning system requires specialized charging equipment, approved refrigerants, and specific lubricants designed for this HVAC system.

The use of incorrect refrigerants, incompatible oils, or improper service procedures can cause severe damage to climate-control components and may significantly reduce system performance and reliability.

To ensure proper operation and long-term durability, it is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer or a qualified service facility familiar with Nissan Frontier air-conditioning systems and environmentally friendly refrigerants.

Regular inspection of the Nissan Frontier climate-control system can also help maintain cooling efficiency, passenger comfort, and overall system longevity.

WARNING

The air-conditioning system contains refrigerant under high pressure. To help prevent personal injury, servicing or repairing the air-conditioning system should only be performed by a qualified technician using the proper tools, equipment, and safety procedures.

Antenna

Roof Mounted Antenna

The Nissan Frontier roof-mounted antenna is positioned toward the rear section of the vehicle roof to provide reliable radio signal reception.

CAUTION

  • Accumulation of ice on the Nissan Frontier antenna may reduce radio reception quality. Remove ice carefully to restore normal signal performance.
  • When clearing snow from the roof, avoid applying excessive force to the antenna.

Excessive pressure could damage the antenna assembly or dent the roof panel.

  • When using a high-pressure vehicle wash, keep the spray nozzle away from the antenna base. High-pressure water may damage or deform the antenna seal.
  • Radio reception quality may be reduced if roof-mounted cargo blocks the antenna signal. Whenever possible, avoid placing cargo directly beside or above the Nissan Frontier antenna.

For optimal radio performance, periodically inspect the antenna for dirt, debris, ice, or physical damage.
