Removal and Installation

1. Remove the hood latch. For additional information, refer to Hood Latch in this section.

1. Remove the LH headlamp assembly. For additional information, refer to Section  417-01.

1. Position the Battery Junction Box (BJB) aside.
   1. Loosen the BJB retaining nut.
   1. Unclip the BJB from the bracket.

1. Disconnect the 2 hood latch release handle cable guides.

1. Remove the hood latch release handle bolt.
   • To install, tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).

1. NOTE:

   Breaking the tab does not require handle assembly replacement.

   Using a suitable tool, push up on the tab to snap it off and then slide the handle off the instrument panel.

1. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the handle.
   1. Release the cable conduit.
   1. Disconnect the cable.

1. Remove the hood latch release cable.
   • Pull the hood latch release cable through the cowl panel into the engine compartment.

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
