Removal and Installation

NOTE:

For non-functional ignition lock cylinders, the steering column lock module has to be replaced. For additional information, refer to Section 211-05.

Remove the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) transceiver. For additional information, refer to Section 419-01B.

Remove the ignition lock cylinder.
1. Insert and turn the ignition key to the ACC position.
1. Using a suitable tool, press the detent.
1. Remove the lock cylinder.

If a new lock cylinder with keys is replaced, the new PATS keys must be programmed. For additional information, refer to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment in Section 419-01B.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
