Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connector.
  1. NOTE:

    When removing the ignition coil-on-plugs, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

    Remove the bolt and the ignition coil.

    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  1. Inspect the coil boots for rips, nicks or tears. Remove and discard any damaged coil boots.
    • To install, slide the new coil boot onto the coil until it is fully seated at the top of the coil.

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Apply silicone dielectric compound to the inside of the ignition coil boot.
