  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02.
  1. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube from the transmission fluid cooler.
    1. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latch.
    1. Slide the latch out of the transmission fluid cooler tube to the unlocked position.
    1. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube from the transmission fluid cooler and position the transmission fluid cooler tube aside.

  1. Attach a length of suitable drain hose to the transmission fluid cooler.

  1. Insert the drain hose into a calibrated 10L (10.5 qt) container.
  1. NOTICE: To prevent damage to the transaxle, do not run the engine above idle.

    NOTE:

    If the transmission fluid return rate is less than 0.95L (1.0 qt) in 30 seconds, or if the return hose pulsates, check for restrictions at the pump, transmission fluid cooler or transmission fluid cooler tubes.

    Run the engine at idle and pump out 3L (3.17 qt) of transmission fluid.
  1. Switch the engine OFF.
  1. Remove the transmission fluid level indicator from the transmission fluid level indicator tube.

  1. Add 3L (3.17 qt) of transmission fluid to the transaxle.

  1. NOTICE: To prevent damage to the transaxle, do not run the engine above idle.

    NOTE:

    If the transmission fluid return rate is less than 0.95L (1.0 qt) in 30 seconds, or if the return hose pulsates, check for restrictions at the pump, transmission fluid cooler or transmission fluid cooler tubes.

    Run the engine at idle and pump out 3L (3.17 qt) of transmission fluid.
  1. Switch the engine OFF.
  1. Add 3L (3.17 qt) of transmission fluid to the transaxle.

  1. NOTICE: To prevent damage to the transaxle, do not run the engine above idle.

    Run the engine at idle and pump out 3L (3.17 qt) of transmission fluid.

  1. Switch the engine OFF.
  1. Remove the length of drain hose from the transmission fluid cooler.

  1. Connect the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube to the transmission fluid cooler.
    1. Install the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube on the transmission fluid cooler until it bottoms out.
    1. Slide the latch into the transmission fluid cooler tube to the locked position.
    1. Install the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latch.

  1. Lower the vehicle.
  1. Add 3L (3.17 qt) of transmission fluid to the transaxle.

  1. Install the transmission fluid level indicator into the transmission fluid level indicator tube.

  1. NOTICE: To prevent damage to the transaxle, do not run the engine above idle.

    Run the engine.

  1. Check the transmission fluid level and fill if necessary.
