NOTE:

This procedure is for all Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) . The non-PZEV exhaust flexible pipe is part of the catalytic converter. For additional information, refer to Catalytic Converter in this section.

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02.
  1. NOTICE: Do not excessively bend or twist the exhaust flexible pipe. Failure to follow these instructions may cause damage to the exhaust flexible pipe.

    Support the exhaust flexible pipe with a support wrap or suitable splint.


  1. Remove and discard the 2 exhaust flexible pipe-to-muffler and tailpipe assembly nuts.
    • Discard the gasket.
    • To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  1. Remove and discard the 2 exhaust flexible pipe-to-catalytic converter nuts and remove the exhaust flexible pipe.
    • Discard the gasket.
    • To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Install new gaskets and nuts.
