Preparation
NOTE:
The driver and front passenger Belt-Minder® are deactivated/activated independently. When deactivating/activating one seating position, do not buckle the other position, as this terminates the procedure.
NOTE:
The Belt-Minder® can also be deactivated/activated using the scan tool.
Deactivating/Activating
NOTE:
The Belt-Minder® cannot be deactivated using a MyKey™ programmed key. The Belt-Minder® can only be deactivated using an administrator key.
If the Belt-Minder® is already disabled, driving the vehicle with a MyKey™ programmed key overrides the deactivation, however, when the vehicle is subsequently operated using an administrator key, the Belt-Minder® once again reverts to the disabled state.Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt warning indicator turns off.
NOTE:
Buckle and unbuckle the safety belt at a moderate rate. If the safety belt buckled/unbuckle/buckle sequence is carried out too fast, the Restraints Control Module (RCM) can fail to recognize one of the sequences and the procedure must be repeated.
To disable the seating position, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending in the unbuckled state.Ford Focus Roof Opening Panel - Removal and Installation
