Removal and Installation
All backrests
- With the backrest lowered, fold back the corners of the backrest cover to gain access to all 4 bolts.
- Remove the 4 backrest-to-hinge bolts.
- To install, tighten to 28 Nm (21 lb-ft).
- NOTICE: Do not remove the seat backrest by separating the center backrest
hinge. Doing so may damage the hinge bushings.
Separate the backrest from the hinges and remove.
Hinge removal
- For center backrest hinge, remove the 40 and 60 percent seat backrests.
- For LH or RH backrest hinge:
- For 2-door, remove the quarter trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section 501-05.
- For 4-door, remove the rear seat backrest bolster. For additional information, refer to Seat Bolster — Rear in this section.
- Remove the 2 bolts and backrest hinge.
- To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
All backrests
- NOTE:
Before installation, make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
